About Bhuta Shuddhi

Sadhguru says: “Bhuta Shuddhi is about removing everything that you have built up so that the Creator and creation will rise and shine within you.”

Bhuta Shuddhi is a traditional yogic practice based on the understanding that the human system is composed of five fundamental elements: earth, water, fire, air and space.

In the yogic tradition, Bhuta Shuddhi means “purification of the elements.” The practice is intended to support a balanced and harmonious experience of the body and mind and is traditionally described as a process of working with the five elements within oneself.

Bhuta Shuddhi is a comprehensive system within yoga that explores the relationship between the individual and these fundamental elements. The Bhuta Shuddhi practices offered by Isha provide an opportunity to engage with this traditional yogic science through structured practices and guidance.
